The inspiration behind La Savonnerie Détente…  I have always enjoyed using soaps; every aspect of soaps from the scent to the way my skin feels after using them. I loved trying out different types of soaps, be it the supermarket ones or artisanal ones. In fact, I was introduced to the world of artisanal soaps through the various organic markets that I went to and since trying natural soaps, I noticed the difference it made to my skin as compared to more commercial ones. And that’s how my obsession began.

 

However, the artisanal soaps were quite expensive and therefore not sustainable for me to buy in the long run. It was around the same time that I started researching about the various benefits which natural ingredients have. I just thought to myself, why not make soaps which are natural and affordable as well?  It has been an idea that has sat with me for almost five years.Finally in December 2019 I decided to take a leap and actually realise this idea.

 

Considering all this, La Savonnerie Détente favours sustainability, affordability and natural ingredients. Although at the beginning it was quite a challenge, I now really appreciate the process of making the soaps and experimenting with different scents and ingredients. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has lent their support in whichever way they could. I really appreciate it.
